Regular Pepto-Bismol and Kaopectate, both of which contain bismuth subsalicylate, are allowed for use in children aged 12 and up.
Pepto-Bismol, on the other hand, should only be used by teenagers and adults aged 12 and over. A pediatric version of Pepto Antacid is offered for children ages 2 and up. Because of the hazards of bismuth, magnesium, and aluminum buildup in children under the age of two, neither product should be used by a kid under the age of two.
Is Pepto-Bismol safe for a 8 year old?
Pepto-Bismol – I gave one teaspoon of pepto bismol to my 8-year-old daughter; would she be okay? She’d been suffering from an unsettled stomach, and now she’s fast sleeping. She’ll be OK, I’m sure. When my children were younger, I used to give them a piece of it. Pepto Bismol is perfectly safe for youngsters, especially when administered in such a modest dose. Don’t be concerned!
